179th Street Road Construction

The current road construction at 179th Street and 29th Avenue will begin on Monday August 25, 2025. 

 Clark County Public Works is reconstructing the intersection of Northeast 179th Street and NE 29th Avenue with a roundabout. Construction is planned to begin August 25, 2025. 

Northeast 179th Street will be closed to through traffic just before 29th Avenue until the roundabout is completed. 

 Future Public Works projects are planned on the 179th Street corridor, as well as WSDOT Projects to revise the I-5/179th Street interchange. We will update this information as construction dates are made available to us. 

Yes, our hospital will be opened for normal services and normal hours during the current construction. Our business hours are Monday through Friday from 8am to 6pm, and the first and 3rd Saturday of each month from 9am to 2pm.

 Whipple Creek Veterinary Hospital clients will have normal access from the west, but clients coming from the east down Northeast 179th Street will be required to take a significant detour either south through Salmon Creek to 15th Avenue, or north on 50th Ave to 199th Street and west to 10th Avenue to approach the clinic from the west.  

The current round of construction should not affect hospital operations. It is possible that we may have temporary closures or more significant delays once construction begins on widening 179th Street in front of the hospital. We will update this information when dates and timelines become available to us. 

We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate or reschedule appointments that are affected by construction delays. Please contact our office promptly if you think you are not going to be able to make a scheduled appointment so that we may develop a plan.
